TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
The Ethiopian Solidarity Movement (ESM) strongly support the demands of the Ethiopian Health Professionals and stands with the Ethiopian Health Professionals Movement until their demands for a fair pay, health insurance and adequate working conditions are met by the government.
The Ethiopian Health Professionals have raised very legitimate questions to get a salary payment that meets their qualifications and matches payment of their peers from neighboring countries. They should also get a decent payment that cover the living conditions in the country. The high inflation rate has created high rising costs of living. These have made living conditions in Ethiopia unbearable not only to the Ethiopian Health Professionals but also to the broader sectors of society, such as the Ethiopian civil servants, the Ethiopian teachers, Taxi and truck drivers etc.,
The Ethiopia Solidarity Movement urges the Ethiopian government to address the demands of the Ethiopian Health Professionals by respecting their dignity and making a fair payment that meets their qualifications and a payment that help them live a decent life.
